(is he, though? manjiro isn't so sure. not that his situation isn't worrying itself, but he can't help that he cares about this man he knows absolutely nothing about. it's unnerving, the same face, the same voice, and it still does pull a little on his heartstrings. part of him wants nothing more than to hide against the other's chest, while the other half thinks that's pathetic, weak, and absurd.

to show such vulnerability to a stranger is unimaginable. his own gaze, although rather dull, shows the same. he's a survivor, too.)
