[Closed Log]
Who: Jinx & Silco
Where: Aldrip - Outside City Hall
What: Jinx comes to pick up Silco from his sentencing. She isn't pleased, and neither is he.
Warnings: None yet
[It had occurred to him that he would garner a trip to sentencing faster than some, especially as he encrouched on businesses. The fact that what had him being pulled in was defending his daughter in a very Zaun way was rather insulting. He was no stranger to committing crimes, but bribery for the sake of his only child? This Council had no idea what it was dealing with, but he would make certain to give them a crash course in the near future.
Yet, he couldn't recall all that much about the Council or the sentencing itself. As soon as he was dragged across the City Hall main entrance barrier, the experience was confusing and jumbled, which annoyed him now that he was being shoved out the door. Sentence laid down, but it would take him time to sit down and piece together all that had happened to him in the last twenty-four hours.
Silco stepped out of the City Hall and stopped, reaching up the adjust his tie and straighten his coat. The black was covered in dirt from the road and his various tussles from being dragged from Rumpitur to Aldrip. His right eye was blackened and old blood flaked from the gash at his brow, giving his already distinct look even more distinction. The corners of his mouth were chapped and bruised from being gagged roughly for the trip.
He forced himself to walk normally despite some choice bruises here and there, and he was used to hiding or overriding the pain of injuries. He walked down the stairs, spotting his daughter. Her expression told him all that he needed to know about her mood, and if she was outraged over his treatment or sentencing, it was mixed in with her overall displeased expression.
He walked over to her and came to a stop in front of her, giving her appearance a look over. Something had happened. She had 'friends' and a 'boyfriend', so his leaving shouldn't have left her in complete isolation. Of course, the sister had left to come to Rumpitur, so that was one less individual she could spend time with.]
Are you alright, Jinx?
[Discussions of various revenge plots would have to wait until he had performed a check in. That expression meant trouble if allowed to go unchecked.]

[He froze when she aimed the revolver at him, and it wasn't even subtle how he automatically side-stepped when he normally would stand for it from Jinx. His heart skipped an initial beat, and he had a moment of being furious with his own reactions. This was his daughter; she struck out at him out of fear or anger.]
Yes, so I've been informed. [He set the revolver in his hand down on the table again.] My mistake trusting people you surround yourself with. It won't be an error in judgement I make again.
[He shrugged his shoulders, knowing that Jinx would find a way to express herself in dramatic explosive ways. He knew he needed to keep things handled on the more quiet side so that she didn't become the Council's or the Chosen's radar too much.]
They are quieter in the winter, but do as you please. Don't waste good meat though.

it gives her a sense of control and power, the one who is really calling the shots when the curtains are drawn. and there's something about her father's apology that struck the perfect chord in her mind. but she shouldn't be relishing over that, no matter how good it feels. he is family, and a daughter shouldn't treat her own father that way. this is why her having lackeys are extremely important -- they'll scratch that itch for her. )
Yeahyeah, I won't.
( except when she lifts her arm, she catches a whiff of herself and... boy, is she starting to reek a little more. )
Phew! — Speaking of good meat. ... I think I oughta take a shower before I get dirty again.

The moment was broken when she seemed to catch her own body odor, and it seemed that she would be utilizing the bathroom first. That was probably for the best so he could clean up while she was occupied. He also desperately needed a stiff drink.]
Agreed. I'll have one once you're finished in there.

( and unfortunately for the two of them, she really did a number of their living room and kitchen. it looks like it'll take several hours of work to get everything right again. jinx feels guilty of that, causing more stress to her father than doing good. but she can make it look better than it ever did as some sort of forgiveness. )

[It wouldn't be, of course. He was good, but he wasn't that good and soreness would slow him down. Still, he would prefer the distraction than waiting. At the same time, he could nurse that drink.
It wouldn't be the absolute worst.]
🎀 ???
( despite the teasing, she bounces over to plant a very quick kiss on her father's cheek before heading off to the bathroom. )
I'll try not to take too long, 'kay? Be good while I'm busy!!
( it seems things are gradually going back to normal between these two. and jinx is very grateful for it. her relationship with her sister is in shambles again and who knows what the deal is between her and quentin. but at least, she still has her father and no matter how topsy-turvy they become, they can always mend whatever that's broken. )
fin
Take whatever time you want.
[There was a mild undertone of 'leave some hot water' in his voice, but otherwise, he accepted the peck before she headed off. She did seem in a better mood already, and that was good. It was yet another reminder of how much she still needed him, since other friends and family had failed in stealing her away from him.
Yes, he was in a better mood. Fine, it was time to clean up the mess of his own absence.]
